Director, Sales


Are you are a self-starter who loves to engage with new people, build relationships and have a firm understanding of media, marketing and technology? Icon Media Direct is looking for a Director of Sales to help take us into our next phase of growth.

The Director of Sales will work closely with our VP of Marketing, EVP of Client Services, and CEO to develop an overall sales strategy and lead the pitch process to mine, develop and win new business. This person will have the opportunity to help reshape the overall sales process and make an impact on the future growth of the agency. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, strategic and possess strong written, verbal and analytical skills, as well as a proven track record of success.

Job Duties Include, but not limited to:

  • Build relationships between agency and key prospects, understanding business needs and challenges
  • Develop and maintain key prospect list
  • Pursue and close key sales opportunities
  • Lead presentation/pitch strategy and develop pitch decks with Marketing 
  • Develop responses to requests for proposals (RFPs) and requests for information (RFIs)
  • Collaborate closely with executive team to develop and lead sales strategies 
  • Attend trade shows and events as needed


  • Experience managing sales process, establishing sales metrics and establishing performance benchmarks
  • Solid understanding of the media, marketing and advertising industries
  • Excellent listening and negotiating skills
  • Exceptional and effective written and verbal skills
  • Strong presentations skills, demonstrating an ability to lead with confidence, establish interpersonal connections and deliver results with passion and enthusiasm
  • Possesses the ability to analyze and evaluate sales effectiveness: methods, costs and results
  • Self-starter who can work autonomously, as well as in a team environment

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field required; MBA preferred
  • 7+ years of agency or tech B-to-B sales experience 
  • Microsoft Office suite at an advanced level
