Senior Director, Marketing & Communications

Job Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Develop and implement an integrated strategic marketing and communications plan to advance Icon’s brand identity 
  • Create marketing/public relations strategy that will allow leadership to cultivate and enhance meaningful relationships with targeted, high-level external audiences
  • Collaborate with cross functional leaders (Business Development, Sales, Client Services, Technology, Digital, Finance) to ensure consistent alignment with product and business objectives, and to inspire and influence in order to achieve Brand Marketing objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize information and provide thought leadership, strategies and new initiatives 
  • Design and drive digital media strategies and tactics 
  • Serve as marketing and communications subject matter expert, both internally and externally  
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality 
  • Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach on a consistent basis


  • Demonstrated experience and leadership in managing comprehensive strategic marketing and communications, media relations, and marketing program to advance an organization’s mission and goals
  • Innovative thinker, with a track record for translating strategic thinking into action plans and results 
  • Experience in building, mentoring, and coaching a team of marketing and communications specialists 
  • Superior management skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers 
  • Ability to make decisions in a changing environment and anticipate future needs 
  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a team leader who can positively and productively impact both the strategic and tactical 
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills, as well as the ability to effectively interface with senior management and staff 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple way 
  • Practical and critical thinking skills, with ability to bring ideas to life
  • Strong grasp of how ideas transform from concept to execution 
  • Demonstrated ability to foster an environment of creativity that pushes innovative ideas
  • Proven ability to manage, mentor, and inspire direct reports, as well as the company at large 
  • Professional presence and skill while interfacing with, and presenting ideas to, internal and external clients
  • Demonstrated experience in influencing change 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • 15+ years of marketing/communications/brand building experience with recent and significant experience in marketing leadership
  • Minimum 5+ years in a senior leadership role, leading marketing efforts for an Agency or technology company
  • Working knowledge of SEO/SEM, Social Media Platforms, Content Management Systems, CRM and Marketing Automation Platforms
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite a plus
  • Well-rounded B2B marketing experience 
  • Website development experience a plus 
  • Microsoft Office 2013 proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) at advanced level required
